We cherish our great State's venerable history, from Jean Nicolet's 1634 landing in Green Bay to the many explorers and settlers that followed, as well as the rich natural heritage found in our waterways, forests, and the diverse geographical features carved by glacial drifts and those of the driftless region.
From the main streets of her small towns to the bustling boulevards of her major cities, we honor Wisconsin's culture. This includes our religious, agricultural, maritime, brewing, industrial, and political traditions, which have led the nation for centuries. We are also proud of our ethnicity—the most Germanic in the nation.
